Activities at Mathison grow naturally from the interests of the people who live here. A dedicated Life Enrichment Coordinator works alongside residents to shape a calendar filled with opportunities to connect, explore and enjoy time together.
Some gatherings are simple afternoons spent in conversation. Others mark holidays or seasonal traditions. Together, they help create a steady flow of activity within the community.
Shared Moments Around the Table
Card games, including regular bridge “parties,” bring neighbors together throughout the week. Group activities and celebrations offer opportunities to connect. Mystery dinners and holiday parties have become especially anticipated events, bringing residents together for evenings of enjoyment. Gatherings are less about formality and more about familiarity: people coming together in fun and natural ways.
Space and Time To Stay Active
Mathison offers several recreational amenities that encourage movement and time outdoors. Residents enjoy the swimming pool, gazebo and tennis court. The courtyard provides a setting for yard games, lively conversation or quiet time in the fresh air. For those with physician guidance, the aquatic therapy whirlpool offers an additional wellness activity.
Out and About Beyond Campus
Scheduled off-campus activities provide opportunities to remain connected to the Panama City community. Transportation is provided for organized outings, making it easy for residents to enjoy local events, shops and restaurants. Transportation for personal appointments is available for a nominal fee.
Worship and Reflection
Spirituality is an important part of the Mathison experience. Weekly Sunday services provide opportunities for worship, while weekday Bible studies offer smaller group settings for reflection and discussion. The Chapel serves as an inviting space for residents of all denominations and beliefs.
